The night of San Juan is known on the calendar as being a night of magical events. The 23rd of June has one of the shortest nights of the year and is also the start of the summer solstice.

The demons and their fires take over Palma
The city celebrates the summer solstice with its popular correfoc (fire dances) and a lively festivity, where fire, dancing and music are the main events. Summer comes knocking with a magical night that always ends in the most traditional way, with a dip in the sea.
The Parc de la Mar, nearby to our gastro-beach club in Palma de Mallorca on the night of the 23rd of June, will be hosting various children’s workshops and activities, as well as demonstrations of traditional dances. At around 11pm the popular correfoc begins in which various groups and hordes of demon’s chase those taking part. Parading are also two giant fire beasts, the dragons, San Jordi and the Drac de Na Coca, which are linked to various legends in Palma. The night ends with a grand battle which sends most of the city into a screaming roar.
